Acer’s New Hybrid Might Be Better Than The Rumored iPad Pro

At first, Acer’s line of hybrids seemed a little tacky to me. But, it appears the line is getting bigger and the actual devices are getting pretty cool and less tacky. The new Acer Aspire Switch 12 will be

released in early 2015. It has a 12.5-inch display, a great processor, and a really well thought out design that allows you to use more modes than the rest of their line, and do so comfortably at all times. It has been rumored that Apple will still be putting out a 12-inch iPad. If that is true, then Acer is about to give them a run for their money.

Just like the previous versions, it still has a keyboard that can be removed and attached with a magnet, and it gains a nice little kickstand in the back to make it more versatile. With the kickstand, the Switch 12 has five different modes which include notebook, tablet, display, tent and desktop modes. In desktop mode, you can use the keyboard without it being attached at all. It works wirelessly, so it’s kind of like using a desktop computer.

If all the rumors about the iPad Pro are true, then it is also going to bring an additional speaker that makes it sound better than an average tablet to the table. It doesn’t seem to be much in comparison, unless they are going to bring out a new version of the operating system with it.

The new Switch 12 is going to look a little bit different than the smaller previous versions as well. Instead of silver, it will be black around the keyboard and the display. They keyboard will be full-sized, so you won’t have to get used to a smaller keyboard and it should be pretty comfortable. It also comes with a pen so that you can write quick notes with it directly on the screen.

The hybrid will also have Intel’s new Core M processor. This will allow the tablet to keep its fanless design and never overheat. As far as ports go, it will have a microUSB 3.0 port and a microHDMI port. There will be two versions of the tablet, one with 60GB internal storage and one with 120GB internal storage. There has not been any word on how much it will cost, but so far it is looking like it will be one of the best values on the market judging by the amount of things it can do and the amount of power it has.
