Barnes & Noble has teamed up with Samsung to try and take on Amazon with their new e-reader. The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook is a really nice device with a 10.1 inch display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution. It already comes preloaded with a ton of apps to buy different e-books. The price tag is $350, but when you buy it they also throw in $200 worth of free stuff! So that actually makes it a super good deal.
The Galaxy Tab 4 Nook has a lot more going for it though. It comes with 16GB of storage and can always get as much more as you want with a microSD card. It weighs just 17.28 ounces, which is light, but it is a little heavier than some of its competition. The weight difference probably wouldn’t even be noticeable at all honestly. It has a 1.2GHz Qualcomm APQ 8026 CPU and they say that the battery life is up to 10 hours while in use.

The company already put out a 7 inch model, and much like that one, the new 10 inch one will run on updated Nook software. They say that the new software will run much smoother and cleaner and offer users a much better shopping experience. You also get new navigation tools and a better experience in both landscape and portrait mode.nook10sThe new software that comes on the device already includes Samsung’s Multi-Window mode, free Wi-Fi at any Barnes & Noble store, and parental controls. Some of the free content includes 4 best selling e-books, 3 TV shows, and a 14 day subscription to 15 different popular magazines.

Overall it seems like this e-reader can definitely stand up to the competition, and might be one of the best overall values.
