Asus’ New Cedar Trail Eee PC 1025 Series

Asus Eee PC 1025 SeriesThe Asus Eee PC 1025C, which debuted back at Computex 2011 along with the 1025CE, is the first Cedar Trail netbook to come out of Asus, something many people are looking forward to getting their hands on and trying out. These devices are freshly designed Eee PCs that come complete with a metallic finish on the lid, matte screen bezel on the 1025C with a metal finish on the 1025CE, chrome finish around the ports, flush trackpad with chrome single button, chiclet keyboard and glossy display.

In addition to that, these devices also come with a single access slot for RAM as well as some other nice features including HDMI out and a three-week long standby time. Between the two devices you will find a Cedar Trail Atom processor (N2600 or N2800), a 10.1″ glossy display with a 1024 x 600 resolution, up to 2GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 500GB HDD, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, either 3 or 6-cell battery and Windows 7 Starter for an OS. The 1025CE model also comes with a 4x zoom webcam and sleep-and-charge USB 2.0.

Port-wise there are VGA, USB2.0 and 3.0, HDMI, RJ45 Ethernet, headphone, mic jack and card reader. The standard base 1025C model is said to have a retail pricing of $249. The higher-end 1025CE model will cost you $279 with both models presumably becoming available in Q4 of this year.

One nice aspect of these devices is that they both come in multiple colors. Judging from press photos released, you can get these devices in either blue, pink, black or white, however, more colors may be available upon release, though that isn’t confirmed.

The netbooks themselves are small and compact which makes them easy to travel with, a major plus for people interested in laptops. In addition to that, they are also the first to feature a Cedar Trail Atom processor, something that many tech enthusiasts will be curious to try out. They will just have to wait for them to be released, however.
