Archos G9 Tablet Available for Pre-Order Beginning September 20th

Archos G9 tabletArchos has just announced their newest mobile device, perfect for the traveler in all of us, the new G9 Android tablet. These Android-based tablets were debuted by Archos back in June of this year and the company has announced that they will become available beginning September 20, 2011.

The Archos G9, equipped with a nice 8″ screen, will be the first tablet on the market to feature an ARM Cortex dual-core A9 processor along with Android Honeycomb 3.2 for under $300. In addition to that, the G9 “Turbo” will also be the first and only Android tablet on the market to feature an OMAP 4 dual-core processor (1.5GHz) for under $400.

The Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system has been specifically designed and optimized for tablet PC devices and offers a full web experience for mobile web browsing, communication and applications. It also comes with Adobe 10.3 Flash support to allow you to watch any type of web video, including YouTube.

In addition to full access to the Android Marketplace, the G9 also comes with a whole host of Google mobile applications, including Google Talk with video chat, YouTube, Google Maps with Street View and Navigation and Google Calendar. All of this culminates into a truly mobile piece of technology that is sure to make any trip all that more fun and entertaining.

These tablets are available with Flash Storage as well as 250GB of hard drive storage space. This allows your G9 tablet to feel fast and fresh without having to sacrifice storage space. Archos also combined the Seagate Momentus Thin hard drive with a dedicated 4GB flash caching system, designed to limit spinning and keep the hard drive powered down when not in use.

The Archos G9 tablet with the 1GHz dual-core processor will be available for pre-order on September 20, 2011 at Archos.com with a retail value of $299. In addition to that, the 8GB G9 tablet will also be available on September 30, 2011 at select retailers including HH Gregg, Amazon, Newegg, Tiger Direct, Brandsmart and Electronic Express.
